What Is a Glass Bubble Balloon - And Why Ours Are Different

If you've seen them floating across your social media feed and wondered what they are, you're not alone. Glass bubble balloons have been beloved in the UK for years, and they're finally having their moment here - and for good reason.
At Budding Balloon Co. we work with two distinct balloon styles that fall under the glass bubble umbrella, and the difference matters.
The first is the bobo balloon - a large, clear spherical balloon with a beautiful glass-like finish that catches light from every angle. Bobos are the foundation of our artisan bubble designs and what gives them that signature floating orb look that photographs so beautifully.

The second is the T bubble - a premium material, more substantial, and the base for what we call our gum-ball style designs. T bubbles hold their shape differently and allow us to fill them with clusters of mini balloons in any color combination. The result is something that feels almost sculptural.

Both styles can be finished in ways that make them entirely unique. We work with metallic leaf, silk flower petals, and foam accents both inside and out. The application is something Krysti has studied and refined through multiple professional courses -because achieving that true glass-like finish consistently is genuinely a skill, and not one everyone masters.
Each bobo is filled with a latex balloon - not just for the look, but because a bobo alone filled with helium, simply won't hold. The latex inside is what gives it lift, longevity, and that full glass-like appearance. A well-crafted glass bubble balloon can float beautifully for over a week - long after the celebration ends.
